The Archeological Museum displays approximately 40,000 archaeological, ethnographic and paleontological pieces mostly from the Department of Cochabamba and some from Bolivia's other regions.
The Archeological section has three permanent exhibitions. There are more than 1,500 ceramic pieces, working tools and a great diversity of pottery, textile and metallurgical objects, as well as mummies, stone idols, and others.
The Ethnographic section has displays of ethnic cultures from the Amazon, Chaco and the Andes, as well as materials of the colonial and republican period.
The Paleontological section exhibits a significant collection of fossil remains of diverse animal species and life forms prior to human settlements.
